Adam Lambert stays consistent with 5,000 albums

The newest numbers are in courtesy of USA Today, and they find the "American Idol" singer in an extremely familiar spot -- selling 5,000 albums in the past week. This marks a slight decrease of 5% from the week before.

The only real problem Adam faces right now is simple -- he does not have another high-profile appearance lined up outside of concerts for a while. With that in mind, publicity for the album here in the United States could be difficult and he might not see another spike unless "If I Had You" becomes even more of smash hit. The good news there, though, is that things are certainly looking good for his latest single -- a handful of radio stations around the country have just picked up the song after a long holdout, which could mean greater airplay numbers over the course of the next week.

As of right now, album sales are boosted both through his radio presence and the fact that the album is of course on sale throughout the Glam Nation Tour. As for other "Idol" alum, Fantasia had an impressive debut for "Back To Me" -- selling 117,000. Katy Perry was #1 overall for her "Teenage Dream," but her initial sales (less than 200,000) were less than Adam during his first week.
