| Subject: Adam Lambert holds, Lee DeWyze outsells Kris Allen in albums 26.05.10 18:46 | |

- The "American Idol" album chart held quite a few surprises this week. According to a new report by USA Today, Carrie Underwood had the top-selling album of last week among former contestants with "Play On" -- however, Adam Lambert held strong, selling 7,000 more copies of his debut "For Your Entertainment" (the same number as last week). Carrie, meanwhile, saw her impressive sales dip by 12 percent.
The other major shocker this week came courtesy of Lee DeWyze, who is still fighting to win the competition. His pre-"Idol" album "Slumberland" sold 2,000 copies in the past week, meaning that he actually sold more albums in the past week than Kris Allen and Kellie Pickler (who have both had the support of record labels). Granted, these two albums have also been out for quite some time, and are trumping "Slumberland" in the number that really counts -- total sales. However, Lee probably is still perfectly pleased that an album recorded before his show experience is doing well. http://www.examiner.com/x-11363-TV-Examiner~y2010m5d26-American-Idol-Adam-Lambert-holds-Lee-DeWyze-outsells-Kris-Allen-in-albums | |
