Contrary to popular belief, Lambert, American Idol's first openly guy-linered contestant, did not actually win Season 8 of Idol in 2009. That other guy did.
But Lambert's great voice, crazy mall-goth get-ups and that kooky kiss left an indelible mark on the pop culture psyche. At least for a few months. So... now's the perfect time to relive the magic.

Does it matter? No. What matters is Lambert using that national coverage to jump off into his own.
I have written a book about American Idol Season 8, penned numerous articles about Adam Lambert, attended American Idols Live 2009 and Rock My Town, but I had never even attempted to meet Adam Lambert. Autographs and meet and greets are usually not my thing. In fact the only autographs I have are Marilyn Monroe's. Last week I was handed a unique opportunity.
