- After falling ever so slightly in track sales the past two weeks, Adam Lambert is not back on top with "If I Had You." In the newest numbers released this week via USA Today, the third single off of "For Your Entertainment" rose up an impressive 8% from thw week before, giving it a total number of 38,000 for the week. As for an overall number, the song is now officially past the 400,000 mark with 412,000 singles sold. It also was the top track by far among any former "American Idol" contestants.
What is interesting in all of this, however, is that Adam actually somehow managed to fall a spot on Billboard's Digital Songs chart this week to #35. What happened? With all of the hype this week surrounding the MTV Video Music Awards (which Adam was not a part of), a number of songs by other artists managed to go flying off of the shelves and on iTunes. The leader of the pack for this past week is Bruno Mars, whose lead single "Just the Way You Are" is quickly turning into a major hit. (Adam has also professed to be a fan of his voice in past interviews.) http://www.examiner.com/tv-in-national/american-idol-adam-lambert-up-8-track-sales | |
