| Subject: American Idol' airplay: Adam Lambert, Kris Allen continue reign at the top 03.05.10 22:02 | |

- Another week has passed, and Adam Lambert is still leading the "American Idol" airplay chart compiled by USA Today and Mediabase. The remaining runner-up lost over 300 spins across all radio formats last week for single "Whataya Want From Me," but was still easily #1 with close to 9,800 spins over the course of the last seven days.
In second place, last year's winner Kris Allen continues to hold relatively strong with his catchy "Live Like We're Dying." In spite of the fact that his song has been in rotation in some markets since September of last year, Kris still managed over 8,300 spins. Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone" is close behind, and is even gaining a small number of spins (which is surprising considering its long life on the radio at this point).
Elsewhere on the chart, there really aren't any new surprises as most of the "Idol" mainstays continue to receive airtime for their hits. Crystal Bowersox is the only contestant from this season on the list, and she has received 32 spins in the past week for the song "Holy Toledo" -- impressive considering that the song was recorded before this whole experience began.
Do you think that the only person to defeat Adam Lambert could be Adam himself? After all, "If I Had You" will be making its surge in the coming weeks.
