With American Idol fully back in swing and the hit show expected to dominate network television for the next four months, it is a good time to reflect on American Idol's greatest performances. Each season has produced some amazing performances and 2010 is likely to do the same. Here's Idols' Top 13 performances, which of course, feature three from Adam Lambert.

13. Tracks of My Tears, Adam Lambert. This made Smokey Robinson rise to his feet and give a standing ovation

12. Alone, Carrie Underwood. Brilliant, beautiful and the 80s hairspray rocked.

11. Heartless, Kris Allen. Just when you thought the shy Allen was out of the competition he rebounded with a game-changing guitar-laced masterpiece of the Kanye West song. He likely won the show based off this performance.

10. In the Ghetto, Taylor Hicks. Yes, Taylor Hicks is by far the least dynamic of all the American Idol winners, but his performance of arguably Elvis' greatest song was moving.

9. Respect, Kelly Clarkson. The first idol (and best?) Idol winner helped make this show a hit for seasons to come. So easy to root for with her unpretentious manner, Clarkson showed Aretha and the world she has soul.

8. Superstar, Ruben Studdard. Ruuuben, was a bit boring and predictable, but his voice was flawless and his version of the Carpenters classic blew away the competition in Season 2.

7. Hallelujah, Jason Castro. This song was so powerful and moving, had Castro not followed it up with a disastrous "I Shot the Sheriff," he may very well have won instead of David Cook.

6. A Change is Gonna Come, Adam Lambert. The chameleon Lambert distinguished himself as the master of the Idol stage with his chilling version of the Sam Cooke song. Lambert's voice shines here and this was one of his best (of many) moments while on stage.(Updated: Great video quality here, thanks to a reader).
5. You Give Love a Bad Name, Blake Lewis. Before Adam Lambert, Blake Lewis was breaking the rules on Idol. His beat-boxing performance of the Bon Jovi classic was a show-stopper, and proved that an Idol contestant can bring originality to a classic.

4. Billie Jean, David Cook. Cook consistently delivered breakthrough performances. This was his best.

3. Imagine, David Archuleta. John Lennon would have been proud.

2. Summertime, Fantasia Barrino. From Porgy & Bess, Fantasia, on her knees, gave an iconic performance.

1. Mad World, Adam Lambert. Brilliant, chilling, moving, Lambert raised the bar higher than anyone with this skillful take on the Tears For Fears classic.
