The Evolution of Adam Lambert
Quote :
From "American Idol" season 8 hopeful to the belle of the glitter-pop ball, THR traces the evolution of the glam rocker whose highly anticipated album "Trespassing" is out this week.
Since season 8 of American Idol kicked off, we have watched the Indianapolis-born, San Diego-raised Adam Lambert blossom from caterpillar to butterfly right before America's eyes.
From his earliest moments on the stage, when long-sleeved flannel shirts and jeans were the height of Idol fashion, to the glammed-up leather and studs finale number that had jaws dropping, Lambert has always looked good, no matter what the effort.
But it was on Idol's live shows that the then 27-year-old truly wowed with a keen sense of theatrics that made his performances tune-in musts. Since coming in second to Kris Allen, the rocker has been able to spread his wings far beyond continential border, touring internationally with his Glam Nation trek in 2010 and collaborating with the iconic British band Queen.
With the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album Trespassing on May 15, Lambert is yet again poised to make a splash.

LA Times : Adam Lambert braces for whirlwind with 'Trespassing,' Queen tour
Quote :
With his sophomore album 'Trespassing' just landing and a summer tour with Queen in the works, Adam Lambert basks in his 'somewhat' normal life.
Adam Lambert is arguably the last major star to come out of the "American Idol" franchise. Though the spectacle-prone singer finished second in 2009 behind the bland pop-rock softie Kris Allen, he attained a near-Kelly Clarkson level of renown thanks to his arresting presence on the show, and for coming out as a gay man weeks after the eighth-season finale.
Lambert will leave himself open again for public scrutiny in July when he fills in for one of his primary influences, the late Freddie Mercury, during five European concerts with Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen. Lambert first joined the English group's remaining members on "Idol."
"It's a daunting task," he said over lunch last month at a Larchmont Boulevard vegan joint. "But I'm looking forward to it. And I feel total faith from them."........... continue reading
Adam Lambert AOL Essay Contest: Read Winner Antoinnette's Touching Tribute to Adam
Quote :
Last week, we asked Adam Lambert fans to write their own personal essays detailing how Adam has had a positive influence on their lives. Today, as Lambert releases his new CD Trespassing, we're proud to publish our winner's moving essay. Read below for Lambert fan Antoinnette's touching story about how Adam helped her understand and grow closer to his son after he came our of the closet.
Life doesn't come with a handbook, nor does parenting. As I sit here today, I was inspired to tell you how Mr. Adam Lambert has changed my life, or rather my way of thinking, and how he has become a key to the relationship I currently have with my child. I wish I could say that everything is perfect when it comes to parents and their children, but I would be lying. I wish I could say that being a single parent is easy, but it isn't. And I wish I could say that finding out my son was gay was easy ... but I can't. Over the last few years, I've been working on the relationship I have with my son. How do I begin? With some history of course!............continue reading
Village Voice : Q&A Adam Lambert On Trespassing, Stankface, Tracking Nile Rodgers On Twitter, And Being An Out Pop Star In 2012
Quote :
When Adam Lambert was on American Idol in 2009, he grabbed viewers' attention with his octave-leaping voice and startling reworkings of talent-show standbys—while he came in second that season, he was certainly that year's most rock-star-like contestant, and he made even more headlines when he came out of the closet on the cover of Rolling Stone shortly after the Idol season wrapped. Today he releases Trespassing (RCA), his second post-Idol album, and its confidence and catchiness should further establish him as one of today's premier male pop stars. Trespassing, which counts among its collaborators Pharrell, Sam Sparro, Chic's Nile Rogers, and Dr. Luke, struts; it brims with grooves and is led by Lambert's overwhelming charisma, and it could very well be the first No. 1 album by an out pop star, as Chris Molanphy noted last week.

Adam Lambert: No Filters
Quote :
Adam Lambert admires fellow celebrities who always come across cool as a cucumber and never voice an opinion that could offend others, but he freely admits that he is not from that school. "I am not a member of that pageant," he says with a laugh during a recent phone interview about his sophomore major-label album, "Trespassing," out May 15.
His fans wouldn't want him any other way. Since he burst into national consciousness on Season 8 of "American Idol" in 2009, he seemed predestined for fame with his Elvis Presley-meets-glam looks and soaring rock tenor. Following 2009's platinum "For Your Entertainment," Lambert is back with "Trespassing," an emotional, musically layered albums that references such influences as Queen, Michael Jackson and Scissor Sisters without ever seeming derivative.
Lambert talked to MSN Music about his Twitter habits, turning 30, and his message to any folks who aren't crazy about his playing with Queen.
