Adam Lambert is inching ever closer to selling 700,000 albums here in the United States, and over the past week he took his album sales up a notch. According to the newest chart numbers from USA Today, the "American Idol" singer's "For Your Entertainment" sold approximately 7,000 copies this past week. This represents a 51% increase from the week before, a percentage far greater than what is happening with the other show alum this week.

As for total sales, this puts the number at 698,000 copies. We already know that Adam has sold over a million albums worldwide, and if he continues to hover between 5,000 and 7,000 albums a week domestically, he could eventually reach Certified Platinum status here -- just like he has in other countries such as Canada and New Zealand.
