Queen With Adam Lambert in Toronto Riff Review: Queen + Adam Lambert Crown Toronto - Quote :
- ...........While it’s easy to tell that May and Taylor ultimately lead the direction in which the show takes, Lambert is the one that takes it to a different level. Yes, I know such an observation can make old school Queen cronies want to reach for their A Night at the Opera LPs to smack me with, but this is a fact.
We all know May and Taylor can still play. From what I’ve observed of the two in the past, they wouldn’t be on the road if there was any possibility of musically tarnishing the legacy they built with Freddie Mercury and John Deacon, and have carefully maintained following Mercury’s death and Deacon’s retirement. But, you need a voice for these songs – a one in a million voice. Just so happens that voice belongs to an American Idol runner-up. Yeah, runner-up. Strange, right?......read more

- Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown?
Not so much in the case of Adam Lambert who appears to wear his Queen crown really well.
The eighth season American Idol runner-up fronted his first-ever Toronto show for veteran British rockers Queen at a sold-out Air Canada Centre on Sunday night and did so with confidence and charisma way beyond his 32 years............read more

- Let’s just get this out of the way: Adam Lambert is no Freddie Mercury.
That’s not a jab. Nobody will come close to holding a candle to the iconic Queen frontman, which is precisely what makes seeing Queen in 2014 somewhat of an oddity. The British rock group’s defining feature — with apologies to Brian May’s hair — was the vocal prowess and onstage charisma of its late singer, which, on paper, makes the idea of mounting a world tour at this stage in the game seem like an exercise in futility at best; one likely to fail at worst. Bassist John Deacon knew it: that’s why he’s only joined former bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor onstage twice since Mercury’s death in 1991..........read more
Lithium Magazine Review - Quote :
- If Adam Lambert was feeling like the personification of the classic Queen hit “Under Pressure”, then he sure as hell didn’t show it Sunday night at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, as he and Queen delivered a powerful performance that held the sold out audience utterly captivated. Lambert’s phenomenal vocal range, cool confidence, and natural ease on stage, mixed with his relaxed interaction with the band makes him an intriguing front man. Does he fit well with Queen – hell yeah! - ........read more
Here’s Why Adam Lambert Is The Most Ab Fab Glam Rock Star Ever - Maxine Page wrote:
- Popdust HEARTS Adam Lambert.
The 32-year-old may have been beaten to the season 8 American Idol winner’s crown by Kris Allen, but—let’s face it—he’s the real winner, hands down, when it comes to most ab fab glam rock star EVER.
This year Adam has been touring with Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May throughout North America, and although there will never ever be another Freddie Mercury, Lambert has been giving the late singer a total run for his money, and along the way he’s earned praise for his own unique vocal style and expertise—receiving thumbs up from critics wherever he performs..........see the pics
Adam Lambert Takes His Perfectly Marvelous Self To Montreal, Happy ‘OITNB’ Isn’t Cancelled - Socialite Life wrote:
- Sorry, I just couldn’t be bothered to write Orange is the New Black in the title. It’s just so long.
You know what else is long? The time since we last saw Adam Lambert! I realize that sentence doesn’t really make sense, but you know where I’m going with it.
The singer, and new Queen frontman, was spotted in Montreal today, looking cute and chatting with fans before hopping into a taxi. Hopefully he enjoys the day before he has to go rock out tonight.
