Adam Lambert is the first openly gay pop artist to launch on a major label, after finding success on American Idol.

Adam moved to California at a young age, and was raised in his mother’s Jewish religion. He began playing music at the tender age of 9, performing in school plays and choirs. His passion for the stage encouraged him to move to L.A as opposed to attending college, where he soon landing roles in professional theatre productions including Hair, Brigadoon, and Wicked. He became an international success story with American Idol, brandishing him as one of the most influential and most talked about gay men in the entertainment industry. Even though he didn’t win, he went on to become one of the most successful contestants in the shows history. His most recent album, Trespassing, has been acclaimed across the globe. He will reportedly be joining the cast of Fox’s Glee next season.
