The American Idol runner-up partnered with Marylanders for Marriage Equality to help raise awareness and support for Question 6.
Question 6 is a proposition on the Maryland State ballot that would legalize same-sex marriage. If it passes, the state would become the first in the nation to legalize gay marriage using the public voting process.
This is the first time Lambert has taken the stage in support of the cause and he hopes his celebrity status will garner support for the issue.

- Former "American Idol" sensation Adam Lambert is helping to raise money in the fight to legalize same-sex marriage in Maryland.
The 30-year-old openly gay showman and Idol's Season 8 runner-up played the 9:30 Club in Northwest D.C. The $125 to $250-a-ticket fundraising concert was to help Marylanders for Marriage Equality pay for television ads in the coming weeks.
"It's a vote about human rights," Lambert tells FOX 5 News. "It's something that the people can choose on directly. It has nothing to do with if you're a Republican or Democrat. It's totally non-partisan. It's just a human rights question."
