Adam Lambert & Queen: The Best MTV VMA Europe Performance!
Quote :
It was brilliant, thrilling and amazing. Adam Lambert gave his best performance ever and it was in the right place at the right time: paying tribute to Queen.
"The Show Must Go On", "Under Pressure", "We Will Rock You" and "We are The Champions" were the gems chosen to close the MTV VMA Europe 2011 Live from Belfast. And after Justin Bieber's atrocious "Mistletoe" and Selena Gomez trying to sing, listening to the legendary band along with Lambert was worth the night.
Adam showed off a perfect pitch, great vocal power and enough emotion. Some hardcore Queen fans have accused the novel singer of "oversinging", but if you pay attention closely, he took those songs to a whole different level; not better or worse than Freddie Mercury, just in a complete different way.
"We Are The Champions" specially sounded extremely passionate and touching. In effect, the 'no time for losers' lyrics took a new meaning, and most of the audience could feel it (check out the video).
Adam Lambert deserves a lot more than he has achieved so far. On the other hand, the rest of the MTV VMA Europe event was full of -mostly- overrated pop stars set to disappear within three or four years.
Freddie Mercury himself would be proud of Adam Lambert, and Rock and Roll fans are expecting to hear great new music from him some time later
Adam Lambert, Pop Idol Though Adam Lambert admits he felt "a little uncomfortable” with his role model status early on, the flamboyant singer has since taken a major stand for gay rights, lending star power to causes like Equality California, PFLAG, and The Trevor Project. Lambert's second album, which he is executive producing, is due out next year, and he promises it will be "even more personal than the last."
