American Idol runner up and current glam rocker Adam Lambert says a lot of wonderful things. In fact, most of the time he speaks it’s as if he’s running some kind of motivational tour. I love it. He tells it like it is and tells people to just be themselves. Adam is very comfortable speaking about his life experiences and using them to make a difference. He was even honored by Equality California for his work.

One of the greatest rock bands of all time, Queen, wants to keep singing, but they don’t have a singer. The rumor is that Lady Gaga may tour with Queen. That would definitely be interesting. How huge would that tour be? On one hand you have the legendary rock band Queen touring. That alone could fill stadiums, now you’re bringing Lady Gaga into the mix that could probably play stadiums herself. Separately two totally different crowds would fill these stadiums.
Lady Gaga has nothing really to gain from touring with Queen, but at the same time she has nothing to lose aligning with such an iconic band. Queen on the other hand needs a singer. If you bring in a no name to sing, all of the sudden you’re playing clubs and venues like the House of Blues, but if you bring in Gaga, Jesus that’d be huge.
Selfishly I want Adam Lambert to join Queen as a permanent member. That would be horrible for Adam though and I’m aware of that. He’s so often compared to Freddy Mercury, he’d breath whole new life into Queen, but then he’d lose his identity. Executives at US record label RCA have announced the company is shutting down Arista, Jive and J Records.
Between them, the trio of imprints, owned by parent company Sony, are currently home to the likes of Britney Spears, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston and Outkast.
All of the artists currently signed to those labels will be folded into the RCA Records roster.
RCA president and COO Tom Corson told Hollywood Reporter: "The path we’ve taken is to refresh RCA, so we're going to retire those brands. There may be a reason down the line to bring them back, but it's a clean slate here."
According to Corson, the move towards dropping existing labels and consolidating under the RCA banner has been supported by the musicians signed to the various labels.
"The artists have all been supportive. We didn’t make this move without consulting our artists, and we haven’t had any push-back," said Corson. "Frankly, they’re the brand. We’re defined by our artists."  | |
