- In what is good news for both Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert, the two "American Idol" stars continue to sell albums despite the fact that their work has been in stores for over six months.
In the case of Carrie, the award-winning country star saw her "Play On" move 14,000 copies in the past week. While it is a drop of 30% from the week before, it does push the "Cowboy Casanova" singer to the impressive number of 1.53 million albums sold.
Carrie is also currently working to help spread awareness following the recent floods in Nashville. By texting "ACM" to 501051, fans can donate $10 to help those in need.
As for Adam, the reigning show runner-up sold an additional 7,000 copies of "For Your Entertainment." Adam is now at 639,000 sold, and could see a spike in sales thanks to both his upcoming summer tour and the presence of new single "If I Had You" on the radio.
Other current "Idol" stars selling albums include Chris Daughtry, Danny Gokey, and reigning champ Kris Allen. Carly Smithson's band We Are the Fallen debuted their new album, which sold 13,000 copies.
