Adam Lambert loses traction on top 40 chart

For Adam Lambert fans, this news is certainly no reason to fret. Unless you are one of those songs like "I'm Yours" or "You Belong With Me" that seem to cling onto the radio for nearly a year, most songs start to die off after a few months of airplay. For Adam, all this really should serve as is proof that it's time to move on to the next single.

With that in mind, we have to yet again look to the singer's Wednesday performance on "Idol" and wonder why he is performing "Whataya Want From Me" over new single "If I Had You" -- what better way to introduce a new song to casual fans than performing it on a popular TV show? Is it possible that Fox doesn't want him singing about "stripper heels" following the AMA controversy? From the standpoint of someone who has watched Adam perform his recent hit on dozens of TV shows over the past few months (as great as the song is), this would be an opportunity to try something new and give people who haven't heard "If I Had You" yet a chance to experience it.
