New Music : Time For Miracles Empty

Big budget movies need to have an equally big theme song to cement its full-circle blockbuster worthiness. The disaster flick 2012 has got a monster hit from its soundtrack on its hands with “Time For Miracles,” performed by American Idol season 8’s electrifying glam-rocker Adam Lambert.

If the previews of the movie evoke memories of the 1998 blockbuster Armageddon, it’s easy to understand why “Time For Miracles’ could dredge up feelings of “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” the smash theme from that movie, performed by Aerosmith.

Comparisons aside, Adam proves why he made it so far on Idol, and probably proves further why he would have made more than a formidable winner. His voice soars, eliciting chills with every whimper, coo, and wail. He builds vocal suspense perfectly, preparing you for the eargasmic climax.

Put on the backburner any feelings you have about the cheese factor of the song — which was written by Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneide – and pay close attention to Adam’s voice. It’s gold. Enough said
