Adam Lambert to strut his stuff at the Warner on Tuesday

He will also do songs that made him a fan favorite on "American Idol" with his powerful, emotion-packed vocals and onstage charisma. Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" is a good bet, and unless he's mad, Tear for Fears' "Mad World" is another.

Lambert has performed his acoustic version of Led Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" on some nights. He might do that here if the Warner's warm, retro ambience counts for anything at all. He prefers old-time palaces like the Warner to other venues.

"We're doing some casinos, theaters, and clubs, but I really like performing in theaters," Lambert said. "I feel the most home there, and it reminds me of what I've been doing my whole life. Just the acoustics and the architecture and the dÃ©cor inside are beautiful."

He also likes the diverse audiences he's seeing inside those theaters. Like a young Elton John, he has pretty wide appeal.
