Upon first lying eyes on these photos, aside from my total GLEE, was the thought; oh, once again, he’s dangling that carrot. THAT TEASE! But upon reading the article, I realized that, it’s not just for total shock value; it’s somewhat poking fun at the whole heartthrob appeal that an openly gay man has had with an unlikely audience: women. Adam isn’t making fun of it though – he loves it. He thinks if you find him sexy, he’s doing his job.
The article talks about the groupies on tour that would follow him around the country and throw panties and polka dot bras on stage. Adam recounts one particular encounter when a “gorgeous” and tipsy fan came out of nowhere and started making out with his neck that lucky b****. He said that although he’s gay, he likes kissing girls occasionally too. He went on to say that if he’d been drunk, he probably would’ve made out with her right back. Is he trying to kill me? Seriously!
If you think Adam doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing, you’re crazy. Adam is a mastermind and we’re the puppets. He knows how to get us going.
Shock artist with talent
This is so reminiscent of a ‘90s version of Madonna. She knew how to push buttons and get people talking. She was X-rated and controversial. But she wasn’t just a shock artist – she had real talent. I think Adam is going to be this generation’s male shock artist with talent. And like Madonna, he’s going to continuously reinvent himself. Just wait. The Adam of today will not be the Adam of two or three years from now.
And I don’t know about you, but I’m on board for whatever he’s got. This guy just excites me. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a male musician that has elicited this kind of excitement and the funny thing is – aside from his summer tour with Idol, the world hasn’t seen Adam since the American Idol finale in May. But for the diehard Adam fans that follow his every move, all this buildup is like really intense foreplay before the mind-blowing…um…you know, that we’ll be figuratively having with Adam for weeks, months, and years to come.
When the rest of the world catches up and jumps on the bandwagon, us diehards we’ll be there saying: “told ya so.” And yo, I seriously can’t wait for that.
