Not winning "American Idol" does not seem to have hurt runner-up Adam Lambert in the least.
Glambert, who was a polarizing performer on "Idol" due to his over-the-top getups and insane falsetto, has released a snippet of a single, "A Time for Miracles," which will be featured in the upcoming disaster movie "2012." The song is just a slightly above-average rock ballad (think "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith with a little more edge). You can check it out here. I like it, especially the sweet guitar and the effortless falsetto riffing near the end. Fans who have been waiting six months for some Adam Lambert music will be pleased to hear it, even though it's no "Mad World" or KISS medley.
But, even if slightly cheesy rock ballads aren't your thing, never fear - on Nov. 24, Adam Lambert will release his debut album. (Entertainment Weekly has behind the scenes photos here.) He said he has a mission statement for his album: classic rock with a dance feel. That sounds a lot like the crazy stuff he did on "American Idol," actually. I hope that Lambert sticks with his vision and his original style of music. Sadly, his glam-rock/pop/disco style doesn't sell as well in America (similar groups like Scissor Sisters and The Killers are much more popular on the European music scene), but his popularity on American Idol and the fact that his style of music sells well overseas probably will mean he'll be successful anyway.
All I know is, Adam Lambert's CD will be on my Christmas list this year! What about you? Who else is looking forward to Glambert's new album? http://www.fwdailynews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5343:Adam-Lambert-not-suffering-after-2nd-place-finish...&catid=178:jenny-kobiela-mondor&Itemid=157[/quote] | |
