We Met Adam Lambert.

I came across this tonight and it literally gave me goosebumps. Yes it's an old interview but, those kids are so smart and Adam is going to be their generations musical icon, it's just so exciting to be a part of it.

When you were younger and people asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up, did you say a famous singer?

Not necessarily, I think I wanted to be on Broadway that is what I thought when I was a kid, and then it kind of changed a little bit.

After you sing a song on “American Idol,” does the singer of the song ever get in touch with you?

No, not usually. When I did “Mad World,” the guy who originally sang that song he was written about saying that he liked it. Somebody interviewed him, and he said that he really liked it which was really cool.

We know you like to dress up and add drama when you perform, but how was it to sing and dress up with Kiss?

It was really cool. It was the time I got to wear a costume, you know what I mean? Because I know that is how they dress and I know that if I dressed normal it would not have worked. I had to amp it up. It was really amazing; I had fun.

Do you have any interesting habits?

Interesting habits. I chew gum too much. It depends on what you think is interesting. Yeah! I pick off my nail polish. I do! It is like a nervous tic. Some people pick their nails, I pick off my nail polish.

Throughout the season of “American Idol,” your wardrobe changed a lot. Can you tell us about that?

You are so smart! My thing was I get bored looking the same. I always like changing it up because it is more fun. I always think it has to do with the song. Depending on the song I picked I always wanted what I was wearing and my hair to kind of go with the song a little bit. The song reflected what the wardrobe was.

Do you have any good luck charms or rituals?

I have this ring, it is my grandpa’s ring and he passed away when I was only a year old. I never really got to know him. This is a little good luck charm. As far as rituals go I don’t do anything too special, I just breathe and focus. It is kind of mind over matter, know what I mean to get over stage fright.

If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?

No! I wouldn’t because I had a really good time and I was always proud of my performances because we worked really hard on them and I think it worked out pretty well!

How long did you wait in line for the first audition?

It was in San Francisco and I got in line at like 7 in the morning. To get into the stadium took about three hours; I was going crazy at that point. I thought once we got it it was going to be fine, ok now it is going to fly by. I got into the stadium and the whole thing was like full; like half of it was full. I waited from like 10 a.m. till like 4 o’clock. I only had gotten an hour of sleep because I was so excited to get up and audition. I was trying to sleep on the stadium's concrete steps with my sweatshirt and a blanket. It was pretty rough.

Who is your idol?

My idol? Michael Jackson is one of them, I think he is really cool. Freddy Mercury from Queen and David Bowie.

If you could change anything in your life, what would it be?

Anything in my life. I would have higher metabolism. Do you know what that is? It keeps you really skinny. I would be one of those naturally skinny people.

Who did you hang out with the most out of the top 13?

Well Kris was my roommate so I saw him a lot. Allison is one of my buddies, and Lil and Anoop and Matt. It was a lot of the group stuff. We were all together most of the time. It wasn’t very many times we spent one on one.

Is it hard to rearrange the music because you only had one week to learn the song?

It is not that hard because we only have to sing for a minute and a half, minute, 45 seconds, so it is pretty quick. So you don't have to learn that many words; makes it a little easier. Sometimes the arranging is hard because there are so many good parts to a song that is about 3½, 4 minutes and you have to condense it down and make it really short so that can become hard. You have to pick your favorite parts and make it all flow, so that it has a beginning, middle and an end. It is hard to pick a favorite; I liked so many of them. There was a song “A Whole Lotta Love,” by Led Zeppelin that was really cool, I liked that one. I liked singing “Cryin’” at the end. I liked a lot of them, it is hard to pick a favorite.

Do you ever interact with the judges?

Not much, After the show, the Wednesday show, sometimes they come up on stage and talk to us for a minute and shake our hands and give us a little bit of advice here and there but other than that, no, not at all.

Who does your hair?

My friend Abreea. She is a good friend of mine and she has been doing it for a long time. She is the one who puts all the blue and crazy colors in it.

What is your favorite kind of music to sing?

Rock and roll is probably my favorite kind, but I like all kinds of music. It is hard to pick just one.

Are you going to put the song “Mad World” on your album?

I don’t think so, I think the album is going to be all original music. People can go and download it on iTunes right now. Hopefully they are getting it if they like it.
