Brian May, who worked for decades alongside Freddie Mercury in Queen, knows a thing or two about vocalists. So when he talks about Adam Lambert, with whom the band just made its U.S. debut, it resonates.
“He’s extraordinary,” May says in this iHeart clip. “It speaks for itself, his voice. That’s one voice in a billion. Adam can do things which really I have never heard anyone else ever do in my life.”
Queen began with Mercury in 1970, and continued with him as their flamboyant frontman until Mercury was felled by AIDS-related illness in 1991. Since, Queen has worked with a number of other singers, notably Paul Rodgers, but none as long as Lambert.
