We’re going to kick off this edition of “American Idol” notes with what surely has to be the biggest news of the day: Adam Lambert splitting away from 19 Recordings, even though he is still under contract with RCA to make music moving forward.
This move (first posted by The Hollywood Reporter) is ultimately one that was pretty inevitable, given that Adam had already broke off from the management branch of Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment and the contract with the recording portion of the company was set to expire. Also, it didn’t make much sense at all for him to re-up a deal with them, given that 19R is now working mostly with Interscope and UMG following the changes brought on before the start of season 10.............. read more on Cartermatt
