Adam Lambert: London Partying Lad
Quote :
Stepping out for a fun night on the town, Adam Lambert was spotted arriving at The Wellington Club in London, England on Wednesday night (June 20).
The "Never Close Our Eyes" singer looked fierce as always in an all-black ensemble while giving the awaiting photographers a grin before heading inside to the Dean Piper party.
After dancing the night away with friends, the former "American Idol" contestant took to his Twitter page writing, "@deanpiper had a lovely time at your party!! Great to see u as always. "
Switching to music news, it looks like one of the 30-year-old's newest songs off his latest album might be getting a unique live performance. The track "Shady" off of record "Trespassing" includes vocals from producer and friend Sam Sparro, as well as Nile Rodgers, who added in on the guitar and it looks Rodgers wants a collaborative stage night.
Yesterday Nile tweeted out an invite writing, "I wish @adamlambert and @sam_Sparro could play Montreux Jazz on JULY 13 with #CHIC & @markronson @larouxofficial @TheeRealFDHC etc etc."
Although it seemed like a great idea, it looks like the Glamberts might have to wait for the special event as Adam tweeted back, "@nilerodgers yo! Doing my run w @QueenWillRock at London's Hammersmith Apollo that week! Shady has to happen sometime though! It MUST."
Adam Lambert Opens Up To MTV News About His Sophmore #1 Album, 'Trespassing'
Quote :
30-year old American Idol alumni, Adam Lambert just released his sophmore album, Trespassing which easily soared to the #1 spot on the Billboard charts. MTV News had the chance to chat with him about his involvement in the album, his relationship, and the one-and-only Freddie Mercury.
One thing that Adam did different with this album was he executive produced the entire thing,or in his words "you're the chairmen of the board!" - was that something that was important to him?
"On this album I co-wrote most of the songs on it, so I was in the studio writing, and creating these songs from the ground up," he says. "Creating is the best part of this whole job." .......... continue reading
MTV News Examines Gay #1's
Quote :
When Adam Lambert's latest album, Trespassing hit #1 on the Billboard Chart last month he (surprisingly) became the first openly-gay artists to ever do so. Other artists such as Ricky Martin, Elton John and Freddie Mercury have hit #1 before, but at the time of the release were closeted homosexual men.
Between 1972-1975 Elton John managed to score seven consecutive number one albums, which had never in history been accomplished before. Finally in 1976 Elton revealed to Rolling Stone magazine that he was "bisexual". In 1988 he officially came out after his divorce from a woman.
1979's Queen hit, Crazy Little Thing Called Love shot straight to number one. Lead singer Freddie Mercury died of pnemonia on November 24th 1991, just one day after publicly admitting he'd tested positrive for HIV, and admitting he was in fact homoseuxal.
