Adam Lambert slams Michele Bachmann for views on LGBT rights
Quote :
With the news coming out over the weekend that Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was the winner of the straw poll in Ames, Iowa, we are now starting to get some of the major fallout when it comes to some of the politician’s controversial comments in the past about gay rights. (In one interview, she went on to call the lifestyle both “sad” and “personal bondage.”)
Following her victory, Bachmann made an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where she was grilled at length about the topic. However, she largely chose to just dodge the question to the best of her ability:
“I am running of the Presidency of the United States, I am not running to be anyone’s judge … my view on marriage is that I view marriage to be a man and a woman. I ascribe honor and dignity to every person, no matter what their background. They have honor and they have dignity.”
A number of activists for LGBT rights over the past few months have slammed Bachmann for her views, and now singer Adam Lambert (who recently was the recipient of the Equality Idol Award at the 2011 Los Angeles Equality Awards) is doing the same. In a post on Twitter, Lambert linked to Bachmann’s “Meet the Press” interview and said the following:
“Yup girl, your views are too clear: you’re an extremely ignorant woman who just grins when she’s called out. No thanks.”

For those of you looking for a full report when it comes to Adam Lambert at the 2011 VH1 Do Something Awards, here is a look at everything the singer has done so far over the course of the evening.
Adam arrived at the ceremony itself wearing a black jacket, gray globes, and a silver necklace that almost brought to mind “Voodoo” all over again. He was at the ceremony for two primary purposes. First, he and actress Rose McGowan were on hand to present the Do Something Style Award to Tyra Banks. In addition, we had to see whether or not he would win the Do Something Music Artist Award — but this ultimately went to fellow singing star Justin Bieber.
According to our readers, Adam Lambert is the artist who puts on the best live show.
We ran a poll to find out which musician or band you guys found the most entertaining on stage and the competition was tough.
We had three ladies (Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Pink), two fellas (Adam Lambert and Olly Murs) and two bands (McFly and Take That) – well it was the lovely Adam Lambert who came out on top, receiving the most votes.
There’s no denying that Adam puts on a great show. You only need to watch the video above to see that Adam has the whole package going on – a great voice, moves, style and sex appeal.
Congrats to Adam on coming first, and to all other nominees – it was a very close between some acts.
Charles Robbins from The Trevor Project & Joel Flatow from the RIAA present Adam with a plaque on March 10th 2011.It was to commemorate his singular devotion to inspiring and helping save young lives.
