A Tale of Two Adams – and one classy Lambert

Adam Levine, a judge on NBC’s The Voice, made quite a faux pas on the talent show Tuesday night.
Levine, seemingly never having heard “Whataya Want From Me” told contestant Nakia that his cover of the GRAMMY® nominated song was “better than the original.”
Needless to say, Twitter erupted with enraged Adam Lambert fans chastising the Maroon 5 singer for his comment.
“I had American Idol's Adam Lambert show up to my dinky little weekly Sunday night gig at the Turf Supper Club this last weekend,” local singer/songwriter J.D. Boucharde tells the Reader. “He got up and did a song with me, and brought the friggin' house down.”

“I don't watch television, and I sure as hell don't watch American Idol. Don't get me on my soapbox about America's obsession with turning every worthy thing, and even a good many non-worthy things, into a competition, fer God's sakes. But I sat there and talked to him for a half hour or so. Cool kid. I've known his dad and his dad's wife for a few years. They live in South Park: really, really good people, and I sat and talked with the three of them in the corner of the restaurant.”
Season eight's victor Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert also appear on this week's Billboard charts, two years after their season finale. Allen, who has three No. 1s to his credit, found his "Live Like We're Dying" song re-surge 39-2 on the Christian Digital Songs chart three weeks ago after performing it on a PBS Memorial Day special. The track has since settled back down, falling 27-46 this week. Lambert's hit single "Whataya Want From Me" moved to recurrent status on the Adult Top 40 charts almost a year ago and topped the Adult Top 40 Recurrents chart in September 2010, where it became one of Lambert's six Billboard No. 1s. Now it's one summer later and "Whataya Want From Me" still ranks No. 18 on this airplay list.

Adam Levine is the lead singer for Maroon 5 and one of the four coaches on NBC's The Voice. He has finally issued an apology for an insensitive remark he made about Adam Lambert after the televised talent competition contestant Nakia sang the American Idol alum's hit song "Whaddya Want From Me."
The Maroon 5 vocalist upset Adam Lambert fans after telling Nakia that he didn't know who sang "Whaddya Want From Me." He also commented that his version was probably better than the original. Although Glamberts everywhere were furious, Lambert himself graciously sent several messages via Twitter in Levine's defense.
Charles Robbins from The Trevor Project & Joel Flatow from the RIAA present Adam with a plaque on March 10th 2011.It was to commemorate his singular devotion to inspiring and helping save young lives.
