Adam Lambert Brings the Glam to Marquee Theatre Stage

Quote :
Marquee Theatre had one of the most interesting crowds it has probably seen in awhile when Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta came to town last night. The sold-out audience was a mix of glitter-covered cougars, teenage girls and gay men, and the eyeliner was out in full force.
After the 18-year-old Iraheta got everyone warmed up with an energetic set that had her jumping and moving around all over the stage, Glambert played for an hour, squeezing in multiple costume changes that had him donning everything from a giant feather-decorated hat to leather pants to sparkly coats. He may have looked flashy, but he delivered on the vocals, reaching the high notes his theater background has made him famous for.
Known for his flamboyance and soaring vocal chops, "American Idol" season-eight contestant Adam Lambert turned the tiny Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ, into a giant party Sunday (8/1) during a stop on his "Glam Nation" tour.
The room, which housed a large contingent of glammed-out middle-aged women and gay men, swelled from heat and excitement as Lambert, who was making his first visit to Phoenix since 2009's "American Idol" tour, took the stage to a taped rendition of his hit "For Your Entertainment."
He set the tone for a sold-out performance Sunday, Aug. 1, at Tempe's Marquee Theatre with a piped-in techno remix of the title track while building anticipation with a glamour shot of Lambert in a feather boa looking very Bowie-esque.
And that just made his entrance all the more dramatic when he did appear - at the top of a staircase in long purple tails with furry epaulets and fringes and a feathered top hat with a scarlet A emblazoned on the front, interacting with his dancers to the brooding synth-pop of "Voodoo."
