Asking Adam Lambert:
'American Idol' runner-up talks about his music, his controversies and his future
John J. Moser
Quote :
Adam Lambert knew that when it came time for his solo tour, it wouldn’t be the average jaunt of a debut artist any more than his over-the-top vocals and outrageous costumes were the norm on the 2009 “American Idol” season on which he was runner-up.
The result, which lights up Musikfest’s RiverPlace main stage Friday, is a theatrical production.
Adam Lambert is Adam Lambert, and better, at Musikfest
Singer delivers in show full of hits, lasers and costume changes

Quote :
"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert's show at Musikfest on Friday was, well, Adam Lambert.
If you like a very theatrical show, with lasers, choreography and costumes, make-up and masks and singing that occasionally goes over the top — which a Musikfest sellout crowd of 6,500 apparently loved — then Lambert gave an outrageously good performance.
But even for those who think Lambert is largely an acquired taste – perhaps a few male companions of the largely female crowd were the only ones there also was a good deal at which to marvel.
Not winning American Idol was the best thing that ever happened to San Diegan phenom Adam Lambert. The 28-year-old singer has used that underdog status as his drive to be aggressively unapologetic in coming out as not just an openly gay artist, but the kind of raunchy cabaret showman normally at residence in pansexual New York after-hours clubs.
And his hour-long Glamnation set, performed predominately for a hysterical audience of mainstream families and teens at Bethlehem, PA’s annual (and commendably hassle-free, all-around good-time) Musikfest, made for an unlikely and inspiring spectacle….
Musikfest was rocking this weekend when two of the hottest young performers wowed fans with separate concerts. From Selena Gomez to Adam Lambert, the crowd in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania could not stop screaming over the weekend.
Selena Gomez gave her fans a treat when she performed her new single, "A Year Without Rain," on stage. Check out the video below as Selena hit the stage in Pennsylvania. The 18-year-old "Wizards of Waverly Place" star sang the title track of her sophomore album for the first time on Saturday.
