| Adam Lambert will do the Puyallup on Sept. 21Ray Marcham - Quote :
He may not have won American Idol, but Adam Lambert has truly made a name for himself. And he's now coming to the Puyallup Fair.
Lambert will be performing at the fair on September 21 at 7:30 p.m. He is the latest performer to be scheduled to perform at the Fair.
He finished second to Kris Allen on American Idol last year, but his first album, For Your Entertainment, shot to No. 3 on the Billboard album chart. After touring with other members of the Season 8 cast of Idol last year, this is his first nationwide tour as a headline artist. - Quote :
Adam Lambert wound down the U.S. leg of his GlamNation tour at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center Tuesday night, with 7,800-plus cheering on two of the hottest “American Idol” grads - also opener Allison Iraheta - since that guy from Federal Way was on the show. (Speaking of which, he’ll be at the Fair on Sunday and I’ll be posting interview audio here soon, by the way. But I digress.)
Sporting colorful streaks in her hair in lieu of her crimson locks she’s become known for since “Idol,” the spunky Iraheta warmed the crowd up with an energetic and sometimes emotional set. She paused to wipe away joyful tears during ballad “No One Else.” “I got all this eyelash glue in my eye and it’s burnin’,” she declared, laughing, before she followed with hit ballad “Scars.”
Iraheta later let loose for the Gary Glitter inspired “Robot Love,” a rockin’ delivery of Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker” and set closer “Friday I’ll Be Over U.” (She’d later take a bow at the end of Lambert’s set, only to get ambushed by a shower of Silly String.)

Adam Lambert made his audience wait an hour before showing up on stage at the Puyallup Fair on Tuesday night.
Fans of other artists might have left, or even thrown food, but Lambert's loyal legion simply danced. They gyrated on chairs after opener Allison Iraheta was done, as recorded music blared over the loud speakers for an hour.
Good thing Lambert, when he finally showed, did not disappoint.
The 28-year-old "American Idol" veteran is best known for his theatrics — like kissing another man at the American Music Awards last year — but at the fair, he proved why he has come so far. The reality TV finalist pulled off a satisfying show, if sometimes poorly paced.
Displaying quite a range, he belted power rock anthems and sweet ballads. But he was best when it was just him and a guitarist — singing sweetly "If I Had You." Some rock songs worked, like "Strut," in showcasing his talents, but others fell flat, like his cover of "Ring of Fire," which had an electronica bent to it.
