Online fundraising is on the rise. Digital giving grew 34.5 percent in 2010, compared to 2009 and accounted for 7.6 percent of total fundraising, according to a new report called from Blackbaud.
This is partly due to the large mobile giving response that came in during the days following the earthquake in Haiti. “The best mobile giving campaigns are the ones where it’s easy for consumers to donate, where the price points of entry are low, and where it’s transparent how the funds are being used,” Jim Manis, Chairman and CEO of the Mobile Giving Foundation (MGF), told USA Today.

Online music video destination site Vevo launched tonight with an introduction by Bono, who forecast that the new site would strike a new paradigm in the music industry. “Friends, we are gathered here today to mourn the loss of a great old cash cow that was the music business,” Bono said. “But friends, we’re also here to celebrate new shoots, new life, and the birth of a new model for our industry.”
