| Subject: An Older Woman's Take on Superstar Adam Lambert 16.05.10 19:46 | |

- It has been over a year since I have seen Adam Lambert perform on TV. I am getting re-acquainted with him again today, half sitting, half dancing in my chair interspersed with
jumping around the room dancing, listening to his rendition of "Born to Be Wild!" All I can say is, it's exciting, I'm excited...he's exciting!
The very first time I saw him on American Idol, I thought here is the winner. This young man will be a superstar, the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson and Barbara Streisand....my generation of those deemed superstars! The judges knew it. They had been in the entertainment business long enough to know that talent like his was rare. He was a find, maybe their find and totally destined to be a superstar. When Katy Perry sang on American Idol and Adam's name was printed on the back of her jacket, I couldn't believe it. Even she knew it.
My definition of a superstar is one that evokes a strong emotion in the viewer and whose talent is not only learned, but inbred. It's not only his voice, but his whole demeanor...he commands the audience...look at me...listen to me. He creates excitement!
What was all that hoopla on his coming out about being a homosexual? Like it or not, who cares when his persona creates something extraordinary!
So, until I can buy a ticket and see him in person, I will just continue to sit here listening to Groove Shark or Pandora on my computer dancing away. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/3007862/an_older_womans_take_on_superstar_adam.html?cat=7 | |
