- So, I was given a well deserved chastising recently, for not having written anything on Adam Lambert in quite some time.
Being properly reprimanded, I want to dedicate this post to Dina. (And as you can see Dina, we have a life long subscription to Glambert).
When I first realized I needed to do this particular piece, I racked my brain (Hey! It took longer than twenty seconds…it took twenty four to be exact) on something new to say about him. I’ve driven into the ground how talented, amazing, and sexy he is. What is left to say, right? Well, Adam did the work for me, and he did so with all of his heart.
I recently discovered that Adam teamed up with Donors Choose prompting his fans to donate nearly $300,000 for musical equipment, which he, himself delivered to Belvedere Middle School. The money allowed the school to purchase 1000 guitars (an impressive 300 guitarists in the school alone!), strings, and batteries to power up the keyboards.
Adam was slated as saying (as taken from the LA Times…you can read the article in it’s entirety, just clicky the link) “Public schools don’t get the budgets for materials in the arts programs,” he told Idol Tracker. “We’ve raised an insane amount of money. Music classes, drama classes, art classes … these are the programs I really wanted to focus on because, as a kid, I was fortunate enough to have great funding in my district. That’s not always the case for people, so this is really important and great.”
For those that think Adam Lambert is simply “Here for your entertainment”, I suggest you take a closer look. The man is infreakingcredible.
As always Adam, we love you. http://tengossip.com/2010/02/21/diagnosis-lambertitis-suggested-treatment-none/ | |
